Brody from Cody pulls triple duty in Wyoming
State Meet Highlights
- Brody Smith, the senior from Cody, won the impressive 800-1600-3200 triple while also running on Cody's fourth place 4x400 relay. His times in the 800 (1:53.84) and 3200 (9:38.19) were the top times from all divisions in Casper.
- Senior Lauren Taubert of Natrona County won the 4A 100 hurdles (14.68), 300 hurdles (44.39) and the high jump (5-4).
- Elliott Miller of Cheyenne Central nearly pulled off a similar triple to Brody Smith at the 4A level, winning the 800 (1:55.76) and 1600 (4:21.80), but coming up short in the 3200 with a second pace finish (9:54.00).
- Junior Cosette Stellern from Cheyenne East won the 4A shot put (41-6.75) and discus (135-4).
- A pair of juniors from South Cheyenne had strong performances on the field. William Nolan won the triple jump (46-9) and was runner-up in the long jump (22-1.50) while Cody Allen won the discus (161-1) while finishing second in the shot put (49-7.50).
- Junior Alec Richardson of Riverton won the Long Jump with a mark of 23-6.25.
- Logan Harris of Torrington, a junior, won the 3A shot put with a throw of 55-2.50, the top mark from all four divisions.
- Dylan Roberts, a senior from Riverside, was the top flier of the weekend with a clearance in the high jump of 6-6.
- Senior Bailey Bard, of Big Horn, led her team to a big win with dominating wins in the 100 (12.26), 200 (25.90), 300 Hurdles (44.62) and 4x100 Relay (50.11).
Top Teams:
Natrona County won the 4A girls state title with 161 points. Kelly Walsh won the 4A boys Title with 127 points.
